Vancouver is the largest city in British Columbia, Canada – sometimes known as Hollywood North or as the Canadian version of San Francisco when it comes to how strong the gay community is here! It is one of the densest and most ethnically diverse cities in Canada and the greater Vancouver area has a population of about 2.5 million which actually makes it the third-largest metropolitan area in the entire country. It’s a popular filming location, surrounded by mountains, and is pretty well known for its natural beauty, nestled between the Coast Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It’s frequently ranked as one of the “best cities to live in” and is certainly a beautiful destination to just visit too – or in our case to have a staycation in!
You can see the video about the first day of our staycation up above which includes the Opus Hotel, Sea Vancouver Waterfront Sightseeing Adventures, Brunch at Gyoza Bar, Davie Street, and Dinner at Cibo Trattoria.
And a video below about the second day of our staycation is below which includes the Granville Island Hotel, Granville Island, Brunch at Tableau Bar Bistro, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, and Dinner at Belgard Kitchen.
Our itinerary was put together with help from Tourism Vancouver and here are some of the photos I shared on Instagram from the area:
I also did a video from our first hotel where my boyfriend and I volunteered during our staycation at the Dr. Peter Centre to serve breakfast to people with HIV/AIDS who need help to ensure they’re able to feed themselves and take care of their health issues. There’s also a video from our second hotel where my boyfriend and I debate whether or not everyone should define/identify their sexuality. So be sure to check them out too and subscribe to my YouTube channel while you’re there for more fun videos from our travels designed for the LGBTQ traveler to find awesome and safe places to visit!
