Award-winning Content Creator, Travel Writer, and TV Producer/Host

Hi, I’m Josh Rimer and I’m based in Vancouver, BC – but I’m often travelling! I started out mainly creating travel videos for my YouTube channel with over 40K subscribers, but now I also create travel episodes for Canada’s national LGBTQ TV station OUTtv which reaches 1.2 million Canadians. “Josh Rimer Travels” is an interstitial program that airs daily on that network.

In 2019 I was awarded the title of Mr. Gay Canada and I went to South Africa to compete in the Mr. Gay World competition. I was later named Best Travel Content Creator of 2024 by GayCities and passed 100K total followers across my social media accounts that year as well. In 2025 I was a finalist for the TBEX awards in the short-form video category, and in 2026 I won the Confluence Award for Travel, which recognizes the top Canadian Content Creators!

I  have written about travel for IN Magazine (Canada’s only national LGBTQ2+ lifestyle magazine), GayCalgary Magazine (Alberta’s LGBTQ+ magazine), and Luxe Beat Magazine (Luxury lifestyle magazine). I’ve also written about entertainment – below you can see a cover story I wrote for GayCalgary Magazine about the singer Sannie (aka Whigfield), along with a travel article I wrote about Penticton, BC for IN Magazine.

I’ve been hired to write/produce/host videos for other people as well (see Gayosphere screenshot below of travel videos I created for their YouTube channel) and I often do brand deals on my Instagram account, with companies like Netflix, Square and TacoTime (along with many other local, national & international businesses). I’ve worked with many hotels, airlines and luggage companies as well.

Josh Rimer is the producer & host of “Josh Rimer Travels” which is an interstitial program that airs every day on OUTtv, Canada’s national LGBTQ TV station. His TV coverage reaches 1.2 million Canadians, but Josh is also a travel writer for GayCalgary Magazine (LGBTQ Albertans) and Luxe Beat Magazine (luxury focus). He is a content creator / influencer as well, regularly posting about his travels to a total of over 100K social media followers, including over 41K subscribers who follow him on YouTube for his trip recaps. Josh has been invited to visit and create content about destinations like South Africa, Thailand, Australia, Switzerland, Britain, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Czechia, Finland, Sweden, Colombia, Mexico and many states/provinces/cities in the US and Canada. He has also worked with major brands including multiple airlines, hotels/resorts, and luggage companies. Josh is also sought after as travel expert on-stage, having served as a host/MC and presenter at the New York Travel & Adventure Show in both 2024 & 2025, a panelist at TravelCon in 2025, and a speaker at the TGA Travel Good Show in 2026. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including winning in the Travel category at the 2026 Confluence Awards (for Canadian Content Creators), being a finalist for Best Short Form Travel Video at the 2025 TBEX Awards, and being voted as Best Travel Content Creator in the 2024 GayCities Awards.
