I’m a TV Producer/Host, a YouTuber/Influencer, a Travel Writer… and I was Mr. Gay Canada 2019!
Hi, I’m Josh Rimer and I’m primarily known for the travel videos that I produce and host for my YouTube channel as well as two Canadian TV stations – OUTtv (our national LGBTQ TV station) and Pluto TV Canada (through a partnership with HappiTV). My YouTube channel has over 40K subscribers, over 1.2 million Canadians have OUTtv on its own or in a package through their cable providers, and 10K people watch HappiTV on Pluto TV Canada each week.
I’m quite active on my social media and have a pretty engaged following of people who’ve been watching and interacting with me online for years. Daily Hive, which is western Canada’s largest online-only publication, did an article about my journey (both in terms of my travels and in terms of being a YouTuber).
I also occasionally do travel writing and have written for IN Magazine (Canada’s only national LGBTQ2+ lifestyle magazine), GayCalgary Magazine (Alberta’s LGBTQ+ magazine), and Luxe Beat Magazine (Luxury lifestyle magazine). I’ve been hired to write/produce/host videos for other people as well (see Gayosphere screenshot below) and I often do brand deals on my Instagram and TikTok accounts with companies that I like and use – which in Q4 of 2023 included ones like Netflix, Square, WestJet and TacoTime.
