Santa Rosa: gay-friendly destination for LGBTQ travel

Santa Rosa is a small city in California with a cool vibe and vibrant culture that we loved checking out for the first time. The downtown area has three distinct shopping districts, five historic residential neighborhoods, arts and culture, events, great restaurants, famous chefs, wine tasting rooms, brewpubs, and a comfortable inviting atmosphere. It is home to the museum that celebrates famed cartoonist Charles M. Schulz’s life and works including some colorful street sculptures of Peanuts characters throughout the city. There is quite a bit to see, do, eat, drink, hike, bike and explore in Sonoma County in general, and we took part in as much of that as we could during our visit!

You can see the first episode about our trip (above) focused on the hotels and restaurants we experienced during our visit. It includes the Applewood InnAstro MotelDick Blomster’s Korean CafeBelly Leftcoast Kitchen & TaproomBest of Burma 2Bistro 29, and Spinster Sisters.

Our itinerary was put together with help from Visit Santa Rosa and here are some of the photos I shared on Instagram from the area:
