El Paso: gay-friendly destination for LGBTQ travel

El Paso is a city in west Texas, along with the waters of the Rio Grande. Outside the city, Franklin Mountains State Park is home to cacti and desert wildlife like coyotes and golden eagles. El Paso is the sixth largest city in Texas and right on the United States-Mexico border. My boyfriend and I had previously been to Dallas and Houston, but El Paso had quite a different vibe to it and an obvious Mexican influence. We had a great time exploring this unique spot just past the state of New Mexico, which we drove through on our way from Arizona!

You can see the first video of our trip (above) which includes the Hotel Indigo El Paso DowntownGeoBetty Mine Shaft Tourlunch at TablaScenic Drive, and dinner at Mesa Street Grill.

The second video (below) includes the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel El Paso Downtown, The Downtown Art and Farmers Market, lunch at Los Bandidos de Carlos and Mickey’s (Mexican Food Restaurant & Cantina)El Paso Mission Trail, and dinner at Anson 11.

Our itinerary was put together with help from Visit El Paso and here are some of the photos I shared on Instagram from the area:

We also shot a video at our first hotel where I did the whisper challenge with my boyfriend and a video from our second hotel where I talked about howI’ve been asked to join the Illuminati so be sure to check those out too!
