I went to Olympia, Washington to see what a Pride parade and festival is like in a smaller city – and of course recorded everything I got up to while I was there for you to see in the video above! Check out my experience at Capital City Pride, along with the other things I saw and did, in this episode of “Being Mr. Gay Canada”.
Here are the places and experiences featured in this video: DoubleTree by Hilton Olympia, DASH, Olympia Murals, Well 80 Brewhouse, Budd Bay Café, Tumwater Falls, Olympia Farmers Market, Capital City Pride Block Party Drag Festival, Percival Landing Park, Dillinger’s Cocktails & Kitchen, Hawley’s Gelato & Coffee, Little General, Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar, Sophie’s Scoops, McMenamins the Spar, Washington State Capitol, Pizzeria La Gitana, and Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.
Big thanks to Experience Olympia for helping coordinate this trip and here’s a link to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you’d like to see more videos from the gay-friendly destinations I visit. Last year I went to about 30 different places with my partner and this year I seem to be on track to visit just as many! Hopefully they’ll give you some good ideas of places you might like to go as well, especially if you’re also part of the LGBTQ community.
