Most everyone thinks of visiting Vancouver when they think of coming to British Columbia, but Kelowna is actually the largest city that’s located inland in BC and also a gay-friendly destination. It’s a city on Okanagan Lake in the Okanagan Valley in the southern interior of the province, with a population of almost 200 thousand people. Kelowna is the third largest metropolitan area in the province, behind only Vancouver and Victoria. So my boyfriend and I were happy to go there for a weekend getaway as a gay couple looking to experience more of this beautiful province!
You can see the first episode (above) focused on the hotels and restaurants we experienced during our visit. It includes the Hotel Zed, Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, KRAFTY kitchen + bar, BNA Brewing Co, Salted Brick, and OAK + CRU Social Kitchen & Wine Bar.
The second episode (below) focused on the attractions we saw and the activities we did while there. It includes the Stuart Park Outdoor Ice Rink, Kelowna Art Gallery, Monashee Adventure Tours, and Quails’ Gate Okanagan Valley.
Our itinerary was put together with help from Tourism Kelowna and here are some of the photos I shared on Instagram from the area:
We also did a video from our first hotel to talk about believing that the earth is flat and a video from our second hotel where my boyfriend and I asked if it could be possible for us to become a Gay YouTube Power Couple so be sure to check those out too and subscribe to my YouTube channel while you’re there for more fun videos from our travels designed for the LGBTQ traveler to find awesome and safe places to visit!
