Wedding Planning & Ring Shopping!

My fiancé Heath and I are getting married next year… but the timing of it is pretty much all that we’ve figured out for our wedding so far! We don’t even know where we want to have it… there’s so much to figure out that it can be quite overwhelming. From the basics like what city and which venue, to the smaller details like the flowers and the DJ, there can be a ton of stuff to decide on and neither of us are great at making decisions – as we’ve found out by our lack of planning so far!

In this episode of Being Mr. Gay Canada we decided it’s time to get down to planning the wedding. Or at least starting the process! As you can see (in the video above) we did manage to at least figure out one thing: our rings. They were pretty much the only thing we could decide on regardless of any other factors to do with the wedding. Even if you don’t know where in the world you’re going to have your big day, or have any idea what type of wedding you want to have, the one thing you can plan regardless are the rings you’ll place on each other’s fingers on that day.

So we went to Michael Hill to try out a few different options and ended up with a pair of rings that we both really love. Heath was leaning more toward a classic gold ring and I knew I wanted something sparkly with diamonds, so we weren’t sure if we’d be able to find matching rings that we both liked, but after trying a few we did! They’re the Evermore Wedding Band with 1 Carat TW Diamonds in 14kt White Gold and they’re beautiful! Sparkly with all the diamonds while not being too thick or gawdy so they’re pretty simple, but elegant and eye catching. More bling than Heath was expecting originally, but I’m so happy he fell in love with them too and we can’t wait to wear them for the rest of our lives after we tie the knot!
