subarucanadaCheck this out – I got to try out the all new 2017 Subaru Impreza before it’s available on the market… and even before the mainstream media! Subaru Canada had a VIP event in Pitt Meadows, just outside of Vancouver, that included dinner, an introduction highlighting their enhancements in safety, styling, and handling. Plus a test drive of the upcoming 2017 Impreza on The British Columbia Driving Centre’s runway. And when I tell you it was a test drive, I mean we put it to the test – I’ve never driven a car that way before… but I’d definitely like to again! :-)

I actually got to drive it around the track a few times and be the passenger a couple of times myself. One of the cool features we got to try out is the automatic stopping that the car does if it sense you’re about to crash into something. I got the car up to over 20 km/hr, took my foot off the pedal and hands off the steering wheel, and then trusted in the car to stop before it hit the target – which it of course did. Between speeding around the traffic cones and that, there was a lot of adrenaline going through my veins to say the least!

After that we took it out onto the roads and drove around to get a good feel for what a nice drive it also provided in more of a normal situation.

Check out the video below of one of my crazy test drives around the track, which I also streamed live on PocketLIVE (where you can catch me every weekday at 5pm PST by the way). πŸ˜‰
